Ronald de Wit

Ronald de Wit earned his medical degree at the University of Amsterdam and specialized in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology at the Academic Medical Center, Amsterdam (1982-1990). In 1990 he obtained the position of senior staff member at the Department of Medical Oncology at the Erasmus University Medical Center and the Daniel den Hoed Cancer Center and in 2009 he obtained a full professorship at the Erasmus MC.
Prof de Wit is member of a wide range of professional societies and committees, and has served as Faculty Member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO). His focus is on Genito-Urinary Oncology. He is the former chairman of the EORTC-Genitourinary Group Chemotherapy Subcommittee and he initiated and led several randomized studies in testicular cancer, bladder cancer and prostate cancer. He either co-chaired or was member of data monitoring committees of several international registration trials investigating medicinal products from several Pharmaceutical Companies. Prof de Wit is conducting preclinical research in collaboration with the Departments of Urology and Uropathology. His publications include more than 250 papers and book chapters.
