Acute Coronary Syndromes and Heart Failure
Current research adresses the detection and management of heart failure and
cardiogenic shock in patients with Acute Coronary Syndromes (myocardial
infarction). In particular it is investigated wether impaired
microcrculation in patients with acute heartfailure or shock can be
improved by specific interventions, and wether such interventions improve
prognosis of these patients. Furthermore the implications are investigated
of cardiomyopathies, in particular non-compaction cardiomyopathy.
