Vacancies and internships
Vacancies
The department of Genetics, headed by Prof. Dr. Jan Hoeijmakers, is one of the leading research centers in the field of DNA repair and is engaged in both fundamental and applied research to unravel the mechanisms involved in maintaining genomic stability. Our department has a longstanding track record and a modern infrastructure that is shared with a number of other departments in the faculty including animal facilities, state-of-the-art imaging equipment, excellent proteomics and micro-array facilities.
The lab of Dr. Wim Vermeulen aims at understanding the molecular mechanisms that underlie and regulate Nucleotide Excision Repair, its interplay with chromatin dynamics and the cell cycle checkpoints and its functioning within the context of a whole organism. For our experiments, we make use of a wide range of state-of-the-art techniques, including diverse cell biological, biochemical and genetic techniques, live confocal microscopy, mass spectrometry and animal models such as mice and C. elegans.
Technicians, PhD students and postdocs
We are interested in open applications from motivated candidates at the level of postdoc, PhD student and technician.
Applicants are invited to submit a motivation letter and CV to dr. Wim Vermeulen ( w.vermeulen@erasmusmc.nl ).
Only those invited for an interview will be contacted.
Students
We welcome bachelor and master students (both from technician school and university) to do their internship in our lab. If you are interested in an internship in our lab, please contact Dr. Wim Vermeulen ( w.vermeulen@erasmusmc.nl ).
