A birds eye view of the internationalization policy per country
With regard to an active core internationalization policy, Erasmus MC particularly focuses on areas that are best suited for long-term programs and where short-term opportunism, important for departments, is less evident. To this end, Erasmus MC is especially active outside Europe and the US, where the departments themselves need no extra help in highlighting the opportunities.
The general stand taken in making a choice for a country is first to determine whether positioning in a certain country would help Erasmus MC to achieve its objectives. Furthermore, the potential is determined and an assessment is made of whether a network can be developed to support a good foundation.  The purpose for the middle and long term is for the partners to join forces and follow the same course with regard to subsidies, EUR-wide thinking, and connecting with other faculties for joint policies and, in addition, a specific EUR-wide alumni policy should be put in place.

Financial support for Chinese students who want to do a PhD at Erasmus MC
