MScMM students in the park, May 2011
The Erasmus MC Master of Science in Molecular Medicine program is a two-year, 120 ECTS, research master’s program, focusing on molecular and cellular principles of health and disease. We aim to bring students to the forefront of current developments in biomedical science.
In 1999, the program was offered for the first time to a group of Erasmus MC medical students; accreditation by the Dutch-Flemish Accreditation Organization (NVAO) followed in 2004. Recently, the program was re-accredited for the period 2010-2016. Click here to view the full NVAO report (in Dutch).
Every year, many MSc Molecular Medicine graduates are offered a PhD position in basic research, and start off their career at Erasmus MC or another institute or company as a life science researcher at the MSc level.
Teachers, course directors, and chairpersons of the MSc program are affiliated with the postgraduate schools Molecular Medicine and MGC, both recognized by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW), and work in 20 different research departments within Erasmus MC. Teachers and course directors are leading scientists in the field of biomedical research.
The program is organized by the Erasmus MC – Biomedical Science Theme.
