MSc students

 

Selected Erasmus MC students of Medicine have the opportunity to follow the first 24 ECTS of the MSc Molecular Medicine program concurrently with years 2 and 3 of the medical bachelor’s curriculum.

You will participate in a premaster program until you obtain the BSc degree in Medicine.

The remaining 36 ECTS of  Year 1 is done concurrently with year 1 of the medical master's curriculum. 

MSc studentExemptions
You will be exempt from the medical master electives ( Keuze-onderzoek, 30 ECTS), provided that you successfully finish your first research project within the MSc Molecular Medicine program (MM08-LRS-1A+B, MM08-LRS-1B, MM-REP, and MM-WOPR-presentation combined / 30 ECTS).  

Year 2
Year 2 of the MSc Molecular Medicine program, a full-year research project leading up to the MSc Thesis, is preferably performed after the medical internships ( co-schappen). This research project will take up a fourth year of your combined – Medicine and Molecular Medicine – master studies. Upon graduation, you may get the chance to continue a scientific career as a PhD student, before returning to medicine.

 

Orientation Sessions
All interested second year medical bachelor students are invited to follow the Molecular and Cell Biology course in October and November 2012. On successful completion of a written exam and after an interview with the Admissions Committee in December, you may be allowed to continue in January / February 2013.
