The prepared slides are not only used for the acquisition of the
digitalhistologic images, but in addition, for quality control. Quality
control isperformed by expert pathologists and an employee of the Erasmus
MCTissue Bank,on all new samples since the beginning of 2003, by comparison
of the clinicaldiagnosis with the content of the tissue slide. This fast
form of diagnosticsis kindly provided by the Pathologists Michael den
Bakker and Ronald deKrijger. Aberrant findings are added to the remarks
section of the database.
