Directions to the Faculty Building

Traveling from Schiphol to Rotterdam (Central Station) is the easiest by train. By regular Intercity it will take you less than 1 hour traveling. On the website of the Dutch railways called NS, you’ll find a journey planner: NS


 
The easiest way to travel by public transport from Rotterdam central station to the Erasmus MC is by subway. For traveling by subway you’ll need an OV-chipcard. For more information, see: OV chip card

To get from Rotterdam central station to the Erasmus MC you first take subway line E towards Slinge (light blue on the metro map) until station Beurs (duration is 3 minutes, 2 stops). From station Beurs you can take either subway line A towards Schiedam centre (green line), line B also towards Schiedam centre (yellow line) or line C towards De Akkers (red line)  to station Dijkzigt (duration is 2 minutes, 2 stops) . Look at the signs for the correct exit on the Erasmus MC side when you get out of subway station Dijkzigt.

From Dijkzigt station to the Erasmus MC takes about five minutes. Cross the street (Zimmermanweg) and go to the right. This street will make two turns to the left. Just follow the street until you see two stairs (in the second turn), next to restaurant ‘Doppio’. After climbing the stairs, go to the right en follow the signs to entrance number 6, this is the entrance of the Faculty building. This entrance is located inside the parking garage on the Westzeedijk. Please take the elevator or staircase up to the third floor and you will enter the Faculty building. The secretariat's office is on the 7th floor, room number 22 (Ee722).


The Erasmus MC area contains multiple buildings with different addresses. On the website of the Erasmus MC you’ll find the addresses.

 

By visiting the Erasmus MC please note that it could be difficult to find your way as there is huge construction work going on at the moment.
Each building of the Erasmus MC is named by two letters. The Faculty building, where  the Department of Molecular Genetics is located, is named EE.
