Rik de Swart works as an associate professor at the Viroscience department of Erasmus MC in Rotterdam. He trained as a biologist and has conducted scientific research on the measles virus for a long time.
His research group has made an important contribution to unraveling the mechanism by which measles weakens the immune system.
