Integrity in Science for PhD students ErasmusMC

Logo FIETCourse
Starting January 2014 the Department of Medical Ethics and Philosophy will organise a one-day course 'Integrity in Science' for PhD students from the ErasmusMC

The course is obligatory for all PhD students that started their research in 2013. We recommend you follow the course in your second year. Students who hold a certificate of attendance of the three-day course scientific integrity, are exempt from participation in the one-day course.

Science is a competitive field. There is a lot at stake, reputations, careers, money. The downside is that there is a lot of pressure and this may lead to disputes on authorships, data massage, incomplete informed consent, and etcetera. When is a researcher a person of integrity? And is it possible to combine integrity with a successful scientific career?

During this course we will share information on rules and regulations within the ErasmusMC, exchange experiences, analyse cases and discuss ethical dilemmas, but will also look at possible solutions and support.

Subscribe online up till two weeks before the course date. Subscription will be confirmed through email. In the case the course is canceled due to lack of participants you will be notified two weeks before the course date.

The course will be held in the Education Center at the ErasmusMC.

Maximum 20 participants per course.

Coffee/tea and lunch includes.
