Make, change or cancel your appointment

This page provides information on making, changing or canceling an appointment at Erasmus MC. At My Erasmus MC you will find an overview of your scheduled appointments. This includes the appointments for which you physically come to Erasmus MC, as well as telephone and online (video consult) appointments.

Do you have an appointment at Erasmus MC Sophia for your child? Then please visit the Erasmus MC Sophia website for more information about making, changing or cancelling an appointment.

Digital appointment letters

Erasmus MC sends online appointment letters for outpatient appointments. Once your appointment has been booked, you will receive an email with a link to the patient portal My Erasmus MC. There you will find important information about your appointment.

It is important that we have your up-to-date email address, so we know that you are receiving your appointment letters. At My Erasmus MC you can check that we have the right email address for you. If needed, you can enter or change your email address yourself at My Erasmus MC or together with a staff member at the registration desk in the hospital.

Your appointment

A first appointment

You cannot make a first appointment with us yourself. For a first visit to an Erasmus MC outpatient clinic, you always need a referral.

Erasmus MC automatically receives a digital referral letter from your general practitioner or other medical specialist. You will then receive information from us by phone, mail or digitally (e-mail) about the appointment. If you receive your appointment by e-mail, please remember to log in to My Erasmus MC to read all your appointment details.

The Oral Surgery outpatient clinic  is an exception

The Oral Surgery outpatient clinic uses an appointment form for new patients on their web page (All Dutch only). Here you can make your own first appointment. You will receive information about follow-up appointments by e-mail. Follow-up appointments at the outpatient clinic for oral surgery can only be changed by telephone via +31 10 704 01 27.

Costs

Is this your first visit to our hospital? Please ask your health insurance company what the relevant requirements are for reimbursement. Otherwise, you might have to pay (part of) the costs of your treatment yourself. Read more about the reimbursement of treatments in Erasmus MC.

A follow-up appointment

Follow-up appointments within 3 months of your last appointment are often made directly after your appointment at the outpatient clinic desk. For follow-up appointments after these three months, you will receive an appointment proposal at home via e-mail or by mail. If you receive your appointment by e-mail, please remember to log in to My Erasmus MC to read all your appointment details.

The Oral Surgery outpatient clinic is an exception

At the Outpatient Clinic for Oral Surgery (website is Dutch only), you will be sent information about your follow-up appointment by e-mail and you can change an appointment by telephone (+31 10 704 01 27). You can make your first appointment at the outpatient clinic of Oral Surgery via the appointment form of Oral Surgery (Dutch only).
