About R.L. (Rosa) Coolen
I obtained my degree in medicine and a master's degree in neuroscience at the Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2019. I then joined the functional urology research group at the Urology Department as a PhD candidate in. I am researching ways to improve clinical care for patients with non-obstructive urinary retention. The efficacy of sacral neuromodulation and designing a new electrical stimulation therapy are important aspects of my research. Another important aspect is obtaining new insights into the central neural control of the urinary bladder and the pelvic floor.
