Check-in on arrival

Every time you come to the Erasmus MC Sophia Children’s Hospital, collect a day ticket from one of the self check-in kiosks. Your day ticket will show the time and place of your appointment

First appointment

Is this the first visit to the Erasmus MC Sophia Children’s Hospital? Please come to the registration desk half an hour before your appointment to register your child. After your registration you will receive a day ticket with the time and location of your appointment.

Follow-up appointment

On each (subsequent) visit to the hospital, you can obtain a day ticket from one of the digital registration kiosks in the central hall. You will need a valid ID for your child. You can read more information about this at the bottom of this page. The registration kiosks are located at all entrances of our hospital. The registration kiosk guides you on where to place your child's passport, identity card or residence permit for scanning. The kiosk checks the identification and retrieves your data from your electronic patient file. This information is not stored by the registration kiosk. If you need help using the registration kiosks, please ask our  in the hall.

Day ticket

You will receive a day ticket stating the time and location of your appointment. Keep it safe, you will need it throughout the day. Please note: your day ticket contains personal data. Your day ticket states for each appointment (or admission) at what time and at what location you are expected. Look for the signs for the route to the right building, floor and waiting area. Our hosts will also be happy to show you the way.

Getting to your appointment

Make sure you are at the right location about 10 minutes before your appointment. When you arrive at the location, scan the barcode on your ticket at the digital registration kiosk. You are now registered. Take a seat in the waiting area until we pick you up.

Multiple appointments on the same day

Does your child have several appointments on the same day? Then sign in again with your day ticket at the digital registration kiosk at the location of your next appointment.
If we schedule an extra appointment for you after you have collected your day ticket, this appointment will not be listed on your day ticket. However, you can still register for this appointment by scanning the barcode on your day ticket at the digital registration kiosk at your next appointment.

Blood tests or radiology?

Does your appointment letter state you to have a blood test or visit the radiology department before your appointment? On your day ticket you will find the location of the blood test and radiology department.

Identification document

At the registration desk, you must show your child's proof of identity (passport, identity card or residence permit). Everyone who requires medical care must be able to identify themselves. This identification requirement also applies to children. A valid Dutch passport, identity card or residence permit are all valid forms of identification. You can request an excerpt from the basic register of persons (BRP) with a citizen service number (BSN) for your new-born from your municipality. If your child does not have proof of identity, we cannot claim our costs from your health insurer. You may run the risk of having to pay the costs yourself.

Do you only have an extract from the basic register of persons? Then please report to the registration desk. We will issue the day ticket to you personally. This applies to every follow-up appointment until your child has a valid identity document.
