About A.E.M. (Agnes) Looijen, MD

Introduction

As of January 2022, I am working as a PhD student at the department of rheumatology. 
My research focuses on the use of patient-reported outcomes for remote monitoring of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. In parallel, I am involved in a clinical trial which focusses on tailored treatment strategies in early rheumatoid arthritis.

Education and career

I obtained my medical degree from Erasmus University in 2021 after which I started my PhD program. In 2025, I completed a Master’s in Clinical Epidemiology at the Netherlands Institute for Health Sciences. Alongside my PhD research, I also gained clinical experience as a resident at the department of Rheumatology.
