About M.M.C (Margo) van Mol, PhD
Introduction
Dr. Margo MC van Mol has worked in the ICU for almost 30 years as a clinical nurse (registered). She holds an MSc in Health Psychology and epidemiology. Margo currently undertakes a post-doc fellowship in the ICU of Erasmus MC, an academic hospital in Rotterdam. Her interests focus on the emotional impact of the ICU on patients and their relatives and the wellbeing of healthcare professionals. She has received several research grants for her projects and has publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Current research projects:
2020-2021 Implementation and effectiveness of POST-ICU-diary, a digital diary tool supporting relatives in the ICU.
2020-2021 RELACS; a randomized controlled trial to assess the effect of music intervention on the level of anxiety in ICU patients.
2020 CoMentIC study, a cross-sectional survey on the impact of COVID-19 on the Mental health of ICU nurses in the Netherlands.
2020 A mixed method study for a needs assessment of supportive interventions on vitality and resilience after COVID-19 among employees of Erasmus MC.
2020 Priorities for a research agenda, perspectives of former ICU patients and relatives in the Netherlands.
2019-2020 BRIC study; a mixed method study to evaluate a nurse led intervention with an exploration of complicated grief and identifying experiences of the relatives. Qualification summary: efficient and focused worker, excellent organizing skills, connector and teamwork, research experience. Personal interests: running marathons, playing flute in an orchestra.

In Dutch: Mijn onderzoekslijn persoonsgerichte zorg op de intensive care is een combinatie van twee onderwerpen. Ten eerste, concrete toepassingen in de dagelijkse praktijk om de lange termijn gezondheidsresultaten voor de patiënt en naasten te verbeteren. Ten tweede de vitaliteit en veerkracht van zorgprofessionals bevorderen. Juist deze samenhang is meer dan de som der delen.
