Clinician

For every patient group that visits the Child Brain Lab, a physician from the Erasmus MC Sophia is responsible. This physician invites patients to the Child Brain Lab and reviews and discusses the results of the assessments with the patient and parents during a follow up appointment. At the same time, the Child Brain Lab collects highly valuable data about the patient group, which the physician can use to conduct further research and improve care for this group.

At the moment, the following groups of patients are seen at the Child Brain Lab: Angelman syndrome, Anorexia, Autism, CAMK2, Cerebral overgrowth syndromes, Cerebral Palsy, Crouzon, Dup15q, Eating disorders, GRIN/GRIA, High risk psychosis, Multiple Sclerosis, Persistent Stuttering, ReNU syndrome, Scaphocephaly, SETD1B, Spina Bifida, Sturge Weber, and Premature infants with PVHI/PVDH. If you are interested in one of these groups or have an idea for adding a new group, please contact us at kinderhersenlab@erasmusmc.nl.

Clinical dashboard

The Child Brain Lab is a pioneer in integrating research and clinical care. To stimulate this exchange, we are developing a clinical dashboard. This is an application within the patient record that displays the Child Brain Lab results immediately after the assessments have been completed. In this way, the treating specialist can quickly interpret the results and use them to improve care. This project is supported by the Erasmus MC Sophia Foundation.
