Introduction

Dr. Monique Bernsen has a PhD in Medical Biology and has been active in Molecular Imaging and Theranostics at the Erasmus MC since 2004. Her research at Erasmus MC has been focused on development and evaluation of preclinical imaging techniques for a better understanding of disease processes and for improved therapeutic options. Main research interest have included in vivo cell tracking, imaging of inflammatory processes and theranostics in oncology. From 2010 she was part of the SPECTRIM group on was involved as co-chair in the realization of the preclinical imaging facility AMIE.

Since 2019 she is Head Operations and Daily Management of the AMIE Core Facility and in this function promotes and supports the use of imaging technology in preclinical research. The goal of AMIE is to promote and enable the use of advanced preclinical imaging techniques in any way possible.
