About S. (Sanne) Franzen PhD, MSc
Introduction
My combined position as a neuropsychologist and researcher has resulted in a passion for clinical research with clear potential benefits for my patients. I am particularly interested in improving the diagnostic and care trajectories of patients from diverse cultural, educational and linguistic backgrounds, such as immigrants and patients with low literacy skills. I try to improve diagnostic tools, especially those used to assess dementia, and provide treatment based on positive psychology by means of solution-focused (brief) therapy. Lastly, I am involved in patient education projects tailored to diverse populations.
Education and career
After receiving my Master's degree in Neuropsychology, I started working clinically as a neuropsychologist in 2015. I obtained my PhD in 2022 and received my clinical license as a health care psychologist (GZ-psycholoog, BIG) in 2024. I am a licensed cognitive behavioral therapist and have also completed professional training as a solution-focused therapist.
