Introduction

Dr. Heike Gerger is a scientific researcher working in the Department of General Practice at Erasmus MC since December 2019. She studied Psychology at the University of Bielefeld (Germany) with a focus on clinical psychology and occupational psychology, and she completed her PhD studies in Health Sciences (Psychology) at the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine in Bern (Switzerland), one of the leading institutes in meta-research in Europe at that time. Dr. Gerger completed a postdoctoral position at the Division of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at the University of Basel (Switzerland) where she established a(network)meta-analyses research line.

Dr. Gerger was invited as a speaker at the Association of Psychological Science (APS) annual convention in Chicago (USA) in 2016 and she serves as ad hoc reviewer for major psychiatry and psychotherapy journals, including The Lancet Psychiatry, Clinical Psychology Review. Dr. Gerger currently leads two projects in the field of intervention research, one in the field of occupational medicine, and two projects on general practice medicine. Besides supervising master and PhD students, Dr. Gerger serves as counselor giving advice on methodological and statistical questions and helping with statistical analyses in several additional projects mainly in the field of meta-research.
