About L.L. (Luna) van der Gun

Introduction

I am a PhD candidate conducting child psychiatric epidemiological research within the Generation R Study. My research aims to understand mental health problems, the comorbidity of mental disorders, and risk and resilience from a life-course, biopsychosocial, and transdiagnostic perspective. By applying tools and theories from complex systems science, I explore the reconceptualization of mental health problems as interacting components within dynamic systems, rather than as consequences of underlying disorders.

Education and career

I obtained my MSc Neuroscience & Cognition at Utrecht University in 2024, after which I started my PhD at the Erasmus MC.
