About H.W. (Hanneke) Harmsen van der Vliet - Torij
Introduction
I am applied research professor of Midwifery and Childbirth at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences (RUAS), where my research group focuses on the themes ‘prevention’ - with specific attention for (future) families who live in vulnerable circumstances - and ‘organization of obstetric and midwifery care’ in the Netherlands. In Erasmus MC, I perform PhD studies focusing on two themes: 1) vulnerable pregnancies and 2) developments in the profession of clinical midwives. In 2001, I finished my bachelor Midwifery and started working as a community midwife.
