About C.M. (Chantal) Hulshof, PhD
Introduction
Dr. Chantal Hulshof is a human movement scientist working as a postdoc in the Department of General Practice at Erasmus MC. She completed her PhD in May 2025 at the University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam. Her dissertation focused plantar tissue stress in people with diabetes, investigating plantar foot ulcers from a biomechanical and behavioural perspective.
Since December 2024, she works as a postdoctoral researcher at Erasmus MC.
In her postdoctoral research, Chantal focuses on early diagnosis, treatment, and interventions for people with osteoarthritis, in particular investigating lifestyle factors and other early interventions that can reduce the progression of the disease. Her long term research aims are to provide evidence-based approaches to improve prevention and care for patients with osteoarthritis at an early stage, improving long-term outcomes and promote better quality of life.
