Education and career
Tim studied pharmacy at the University of Utrecht, The Netherlands. In 2014 he became a pharmacist and started working at The Netherlands Pharmacovigilance Centre Lareb. In 2016 he started working at the Erasmus Medical Centre and in 2017 he started his residency in hospital pharmacy. In his last year Tim followed an internship in Critical Care (combination of ICU, PICU and NICU) at the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam.
After his residency, in 2021, he started working at the Erasmus University Medical Center as a hospital pharmacist in cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery and intensive care unit combined with a PhD trajectory. His PhD focused on improving drug dosing in critically ill patients, which he successfully defended at the Erasmus University in April 2026. His expertise and research interest are in the area of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics of critically ill patients and altered drug clearance like extracorporeal drug clearance and augmented renal clearance.
