About K. (Karlien) Veldscholte
Introduction
I have always been interested in nutrition & lifestyle and pediatric medicine. After having obtained my medical degree in 2018, I have worked as a medical doctor in the pediatrics departments of Ikazia Hospital and Franciscus Gasthuis, until I was given the opportunity to combine these interests with a PhD in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the Erasmus MC Sophia Children’s Hospital. Since October 2019 I have been studying feeding and fasting and energy expenditure in critically ill children. My main project is a randomized controlled trial on intermittent feeding in the PICU (the ContInNuPIC study).
