About M.H. (Myrrhe) Venema, MD, PhD
I am a medical doctor with an additional background in molecular medicine, and am currently doing a PhD in the lab of Stefan Barakat. My PhD will focus on disease modelling of rare, recently discovered genes in neurodevelopmental disorders. I will focus both on describing the clinical spectrum of these types of disorders more thoroughly, as well as unravelling the molecular mechanisms behind them, so that we can hopefully work towards targeted therapies for these patients.
