About S.K.M. (Sofie) van Zundert
Introduction
As a PhD-student at the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Clinical Chemistry, I investigate the influence of maternal lifestyle and mental health factors in the periconceptional period on embryonic health and pregnancy outcomes, with a special focus on women with a vulnerable condition. In this respect, I focus on the one-carbon and tryptophan metabolism. My PhD-project is embedded in The Rotterdam Periconceptional Cohort (Predict Study), an ongoing hospital-based cohort study performed at the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Erasmus University Medical Center Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
