The past months have been an active and energising period for our Technology Transfer Office, marked by progress across projects, people, and partnerships.
Venture Challenge Animal Free Edition 2026
We were proud to see ViroGenesis, a high potential innovation project from the Erasmus MC Department of Viroscience, focused on clinically relevant GMP grade viruses, secure second place in the LifeSciences@Work Venture Challenge – Animal Free Edition and win the Audience Prize in the Order Out Of Chaos Event organized by Proefdiervrij. Over the course of the 10 week program, the team demonstrated outstanding progress in building a strong and well substantiated case. This achievement reflects the growing momentum around sustainable, next generation research pathways.

TTO Pitching Masterclass
Supporting our innovators remains central to our mission. Pitching masterclass organized by TTO provides researchers with practical tools to sharpen their value propositions and strengthen their engagement with external stakeholders.
As it becomes a tradition, we put all participants on the spot to show their skills during the Pitching Contest. The winner of the Pitching Masterclass, Tami Jingshu Zhang, stood out by demonstrating the strongest pitching skills — clear, compelling, and convincing.
HIHR
Our presence across the innovation ecosystem continued with active participation at Healthy Ideas, Healthy Returns (HIHR), fostering exchange and collaboration within the health and life sciences community. Erasmus MC potential spin off companies CytoBas and AcceleraDx took the pitching stage at the HIHR Event in Antwerp, while HomeRun brought its vision to life during the Quick Fire session.
Neollie joins Erasmus MC Incubator
In addition, we were pleased to welcome newly established start up company Neollie to the Erasmus MC Incubator, supporting the goal of this emerging venture to bring robotic preparation of milk and formula for neonatal and pediatric patients.
Learning, Connecting, and Advancing Impact
Alongside tangible project progress, we continue to invest in continuous professional growth and meaningful international engagement. By actively contributing to leading European and international forums and conferences such as the Dutch KTO Masterclass, LESI Annual Conference, ASTP Annual Conference and EU Pharmaceutical Law Forum, we strengthen our perspective, expand our networks, and ensure that our expertise remains closely aligned with international best practices. These exchanges allow us to translate evolving legal, policy, and innovation insights into robust technology transfer strategies that support impactful health innovation.
