About NIHES
The Netherlands Institute for Health Sciences (NIHES) was founded by Erasmus University Rotterdam in 1992 as an independent institute for advanced training in quantitative research in medicine and the health sciences. In 2022, NIHES was integrated into the Erasmus MC Graduate School. Although the institute no longer exists as a separate entity, its programmes continue within the Graduate School. They offer high‑quality graduate and postgraduate education that combines theoretical and practical research training, supported by a strong international orientation and long‑standing collaborations with leading research centres worldwide. The programmes lead to a Master of Science (MSc) degree; in addition, stand‑alone courses are offered through the Erasmus Summer Programme as well as during the academic year.
Course overview
Former NIHES courses are now offered as Health Sciences courses, both within the programmes and as stand‑alone offerings.
