Performance indicators

The Dutch Healthcare Inspectorate introduced performance indicators in 2013 to make the performance of university medical centres more transparent, and also to pave the way for decentralised supervision. There are performance indicators for measurable aspects of healthcare. They give an indication, for example, of the quality, safety, efficiency and accessibility of the healthcare services provided by a given institution.
