Performance indicators

Performance indicators

The Dutch Healthcare Inspectorate introduced performance indicators in 2013 to help make the performance of the UMCs transparent, and to make layered supervision possible. Performance indicators cover components of healthcare that we can measure. They give an indication, for example, of the quality, safety and security, efficiency, and accessibility of the healthcare being provided.

The ‘standard set of IGZ performance indicators’ were developed by:

The Dutch Health and Youth Care Inspectorate (IGJ).

The Dutch Hospital Association (NVZ).

The Dutch Federation of Medical Specialists.

The Netherlands Federation of University Medical Centers (NFU).
