EDC – Erasmus Laboratory Animal Science Center

EDC is the central facility for animal experiment based research, and part of Erasmus MC’s Biomedical Sciences theme. Its core functions include:  

• To support the organization and researchers in complying with complex and specific laws and regulations regarding the keeping and use of (laboratory) animals
• To acquire, accommodate, and care of laboratory animals
• To offer facilities and (biotechnical) assistance for the execution of animal experiments, specific training for those who carry out the experiments, and the use of equipment 

In doing so, the responsible use of animals, human, animal and environmental safety, and the quality of the research are prioritized.
