Two existing antivirals also work against omikron variant

January 20, 2022 The antiviral drugs molnupiravir and nirmatrelvir inhibit omikron infection. This has been shown in laboratory research at Erasmus MC. Certainly a combination of both drugs seems to fight an omikron infection well. The results were published in Cell Research on January 20.
