About

Introduction

The field of rheumatology with potentially long-term doctor–patient relationships  is highly suitable for Shared Decision Making. There is a clear plea for a central role of Shared Decision Making in daily clinical practice. I am specifically interested how these skills can be trained in post-graduate training, supported by e-learning and e-tools.

Field(s) of expertise

Shared Decision Making, post-graduate training

Education and career

I obtained a Master of Science degree Industrial Design Engineering at the Technical University in Delft in 2004. From 2006 up to 2012 I studied medicine at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, followed by a specialisation Rheumatology from 2012 up to 2018. Currently I work at the Rheumatology department in Erasmus  MC and at the IJsselland hospital. Meanwhile, I work on my thesis 'E-learning and feedback in the training of communicative skills in post-graduate training of Medical Specialists'.
