Introduction

I am a medical antropologist at the Erasmus MC - Sophia Children's Hospital. In 2018 she obtained her PhD 'Music in Medicine, the value of music interventions for hospitalised children" at the Department of Paediatrics, Erasmus MC-Sophia Children's Hospital. She performed her clinical research at Red Cross War Memorial Children's hospital, Cape Town, South Africa between 2013 and 2017. I am currently working as post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Internal Medicine and the Department of Pediatric Surgery, Division of nursing and Science and specialized in research on (complementary) non-pharmacological interventions for pain and distress management and in Patient-Family Centered Care. Furthermore, I am developing educational material for medical and nursing students on the topic of complementary non-pharmacological interventions.
