Introduction
Leo Hofland is a graduated Medical Biologist from the Free University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. He has been conducting translational research in the field of Neuroendocrinology since 1984. In 1989, he received his PhD at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Currently, he is full Professor of Experimental Neuroendocrinology, Head of the laboratory for Clinical and Experimental Neuroendocrinology and General Head of the laboratories of Internal Medicine at the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Field(s) of expertise
Main research interests: the medical treatment of patients with pituitary adenomas, neuroendocrine tumors or adrenal tumors, as well as neuro-immuno-endocrinology. Current research focuses on the characterization of markers that are predictive for response or resistance to medical treatment, as well as the search for novel medical treatment opportunities for patients with endocrine and neuroendocrine tumors.
