About E.A. (Elizabeth) Loehrer, PhD
Introduction
Originally trained in molecular genetics, I obtained my master's in epidemiology and my doctorate in molecular epidemiology. I returned to Erasmus MC in 2019 as a postdoc, with appointments in the departments of Clinical Genetics and Medical Oncology. My research aims to elucidate the determinants influencing cancer prognosis – with the ultimate aim to improve cancer patients’ quality of survival. I have purposely developed a broad research skills set, seeking to understand the multifaceted contributor to cancer prognosis, build methodological bridges across disciplines, and maximize the clinical relevance of my research. In addition to research, I am energized by teaching, and I serve as a core-instructor for the Genomics in Society research master's in the department of Clinical Genetics.
