Safe working procedures

Working safely

In order for everyone at Erasmus MC to be able to perform their work properly, safely, and unhindered, it is important be aware of all agreements and arrangements in place prior to starting work as an external employee. To this end, two important matters must be arranged in advance: you must attend a site safety instruction training program and arrange an active work permit.

Site safety instructions

The site safety instructions provide you with information before you start working for Erasmus MC. This contributes to smooth working procedures, the better care for people, proper use of installations, and respect for the environment.

Everyone carrying out work on Erasmus MC’s buildings, grounds, and installations must have completed the site safety instruction training program and passed the safety test before starting these activities. The certificate obtained must be signed and sent to Erasmus MC in accordance with working instructions. The site safety instruction training program must be attended every year, even if the work is not carried out very often.

Work permit

If the work you do could jeopardize the progress of the core processes (healthcare and research), or vice versa, these risks must be discussed beforehand. The measures necessary to eliminate the risks, or to reduce them to a reasonable and controllable risk, are defined in the work permit.

If you have questions or remarks about the work permit, please contact your client at Erasmus MC.
