About

Introduction

After having the opportunity to apply AI in image analysis within interventional and orthopaedic settings during my Medical Engineering master at the TU Eindhoven, I gained more and more interest in applying my knowledge in the field of orthopaedics. I'm excited to continue developing my AI skills during my PhD (which started in December 2022) within the World COACH consortium where I will be focusing on developing risk prediction models for hip osteoarthritis.

Field(s) of expertise

Developing and validating AI methods in clinical settings

Education and career

Bachelor Biomedical Engineering (2017-2020) and Master Medical Engineering (2020-2022), both at the TU Eindhoven

Publications

Current research project

World COACH Consortium, Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, Pattern Recognition Lab TU Delft

The aim of this PhD project within the World COACH consortium is to better understand determinants and risk factors for development and progression of hip OA to develop a person specific risk prediction model for hip OA. With this knowledge, we hope to guide future person specific prevention and treatment strategies in order to increase the health-related quality of life. As we are combining data from all the available prospective cohort studies on hip osteoarthritis, we are expecting to generate outcomes with high impact.
