About our Department

Our research

The department of Pediatric Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery provides tertiary care for complex disorders of the upper respiratory system, hearing and speech and language development.

Overall aim

Together with the affected child, the family and other caregivers, we decide on the best approach to improve the child’s disabilities and achieve the best possible quality of life. Through research we aim to improve our care and to enable effective counseling of the patient and family on what to expect.

Focus

We use both clinical cohorts for rare and complex diseases as well as large population based cohorts for more common and often multifactorial health issues, such as acquired hearing loss in children.
