Each year, hundreds of students, PhD candidates, researchers, and health professionals from around the world come together for the Erasmus Summer Programme (ESP). From 3–21 August, Erasmus MC becomes a hub where leading experts share the latest knowledge, insights, and practical skills in quantitative medical and health research.
The programme features a strong selection of introductory and advanced courses in areas such as (genetic) epidemiology, biostatistics, and clinical research. All courses are taught in English at Master’s and PhD level and can be combined freely, allowing you to tailor the programme to your own interests, experience and career ambitions.
A key strength of ESP is its world‑renowned faculty. You will learn directly from experts affiliated with top institutions worldwide, including universities such as Harvard and Columbia. Many lecturers at Erasmus MC hold joint or visiting positions at leading universities, ensuring that teaching is closely connected to the international research frontier.

About the programme
In 1990, the Netherlands Institute for Health Sciences (NIHES) in cooperation with University Medical Center Rotterdam (Erasmus MC) initiated the international renowned Erasmus Summer Programme (ESP). Today, the programme is brought to you by Erasmus MC Graduate School.
