OKA program: Diversity and inclusion

Introduction: During this training, you will address issues related to diversity and inclusion. The workshop is highly interactive.  

This training is part of the OKA program. The full OKA program includes two training sessions (Supervising in an Academic Context and Diversity and Inclusion) as well as a portfolio assignment. Target group: You are eligible to follow the OKA program if:

• You are an Associate Professor, Assistant Professor or UMS (Universitair Medisch Specialist) with a research profile.
• Your primary employment is focused on clinical tasks and/or research.
• The time investment required for the BKO is not proportional to your commitment or responsibilities regarding primary education.
  Therefore, you meet all of the following criteria: 
• You are not involved in developing exams, tests, or assessing students.
• You are not responsible for developing or designing educational programs.
• You teach less than 50 contact hours of primary education per year (supervision of PhD students does not count towards these 50 hours).
• You are currently actively supervising at least one PhD candidate.

It is your responsibility to determine if you fit within the target group and are eligible to follow the OKA program instead of the BKO.

Learning objectives “Diversity and inclusion”: You take into account the diversity of students and PhD candidates and provide an inclusive learning environment.

Duration: 3.5 hours.  

Costs: Intern: € 400 (only suitable for Erasmus MC employees).

NB: 

• This training requires a brief preparation of approximately 15 minutes. Check the Media button in Eduplaza for the preparation.

• If you cancel less than three weeks before the start of the training, the costs for the training will be charged. This is in line with article 3d of the terms and conditions. 

• After completing this training and the training “Supervising in an academic context” you can send your portfolio to docentprofessionalisering@erasmusmc.nl. If the portfolio meets the minimal requirements, you receive an OKA-certificate. For more information about the portfolio assignment, check the Media button in Eduplaza.

• The total time investment of the OKA program is 17 hours. This includes self-study time, attending the trainings, and collecting portfolio components. 

• The language of instruction for the program is English.
